intro
Every one of us probably has a coin jar sitting at home where all our spare
change is thrown in, never to be spent again. But a few pennies here, and
a couple dimes there eventually add up to untold riches. How much is in
your coin jar? Ask no more! We have constructed a coin sorter that
accepts your loose change, separates them into nickel, penny, quarter, and
dime bins, and outputs their total value. The system is composed mostly of
transparent material so that you can track and observe the coin sorting
process. In addition, we have included a game that can accommodate up to
ten players. Players test their coin estimation prowess by looking at a
given set of coins and entering their first-glance value guess into a
mounted keypad. The coins are then sorted and counted by our mechatronic
system. The player with the closest guess wins! Not only is our
mechatronic system both useful and fun; but we, the members of Team L.E.D.,
believe that it is the tallest coin sorter in the world!
