Yet Another Ball Game
The concept is simple: orient the launcher rotation and height, pull the plunger, and launch the ball at any of the 5 holes on the playing field. Make a hole and you score points (100, 200, or 300), with smaller holes worth more points. The ball then hits the ramp at the base and rolls into the ball return arm, which automatically returns the ball to the launcher. You have three misses before the game is over.
An electronic score board would display your score, and two buttons are used to lower and raise the launcher. A motor with an arm attached would collect the ball, and rotate up and drop the ball back in the launcher. Simple in theory, yet there were many issues to be dealt with during the design. These issues are detailed in the various pages of this site.
