Overview
Way back when in 1985 when Nintendo had just released its groundbreaking home entertainment system, the company developed a game called Duck Hunt. A television running this game would project an image of a duck moving randomly around the screen, while the player would use a light-gun to shoot at the duck. While primitive by todayís standards, it has become a classic game, and is still quite entertaining. Our group built an electro-mechanical version of the classic Duck Hunt.
The project consisted of three main parts.
- Two motors, leading to a gear train, driving a pulley system, moved a target.
- The player used a gun holding a laser pointer to shoot at the moving target.
- The playerís hits, total shots, and the time taken were displayed.
The team, with the completed project.

Gameplay
When started, the target would move over a set path, while the timer displayed the time taken. Each pull of the trigger caused the shot counter to increase by one, and if the laser was over the target, the hit count would increase as well.
